lady-gaga-cindy-lauper-mac-viva-glam-summer-2010

Lady Gaga’s lipstick for MAC sold out in just days! That pretty pink is back in stock and deserves a place in your makeup bag! Best of all, as with all MAC Viva Glam Lipsticks, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the MAC Viva Glam Gaga and MAC Viva Glam Cyndi lipsticks [and makeup bags] go to the MAC AIDS Fund to support the fight against HIV / AIDs. Yay for beauty with a cause!!!

MAC-Viva-Glam-Lady-Gaga-Cyndi-Lauper

MAC Viva Glam Lipsticks in “Gaga” and “Cyndi”,  $14.00 each.

I didn’t get the chance to scoop up a Gaga Lipstick the first round so I purchased 2 now that they are back in stock! I haven’t and don’t plan on purchasing the Cyndi lipstick .. it’s not really my style and if I change my mind, it’s always in stock anyway. Keep in mind, if one of these shades goes out of stock at any point, they should come back again as I heard that the Gaga and Cyndi collection will be promoted throughout the rest of the year. Don’t quote me though.

How many times have you walked through high-end department stores and boutiques and fell in love with so many items but were disappointed about the prices? Guess what, there’s still hope!

Hautelook.com is one of my favorite websites for doing some discount shopping. Almost everyday at 12 Noon EST [8 AM PST], Hautlook features a variety of different sales from some of our favorite brands. I’ve seen everything from Juicy Couture to Alexander McQueen! And the sales aren’t just limited to clothing — they also feature shoes, sunglasses, bags, jewelry, home, and beauty! And we’re not talking about a measly 10% discount — I’ve seen stuff go for as much as 70% off the retail price! Best of all, when you sign up, they will email you about upcoming sales events. And don’t worry, they won’t bombard you with a million emails every day. It’s just one every day, a little while before any sales start.

I have made a number of purchases from Hautelook. One thing that was really cool, I had ordered a few different items and for whatever reason three items were unavailable. They sent me what I ordered and not only did they refund me for the missing items but they also provided me with $20 Hautelook credit per missing item. That’s $60 for me to use towards any future Hautelook.com purchase! I thought that was generous and it made me want to continue shopping with them and I did.

I Won The Purple Lab Model Search!

Jessica_Harlow_Purple_Lab_Model_Search_Winner

I just opened this email from Purple Lab and was delighted to see my photo! I am so overwhelmed with happiness, excitement, and anticipation! I cannot wait to meet with the beyond fabulous creatrix, Karen Robinovitz, and join her on HSN. I have been reading her book, How to Become Famous in Two Weeks or Less, and I just fell in love with her. I’m sure that those of you who have tuned in to HSN would agree that Karen’s energy and passion for her brand is inspirational! As I said before, Purple Lab is a brand that I believe in and I have such respect for their message – You can have it all! Their beauty products are packed with ingredients that do more than just add a little color or cover up some imperfections and that is what makes this brand so luxurious. You can have it all so allow yourself to expect more out of your life and expect more out of your beauty products!

I cannot express how thankful I am for this opportunity. I would have never in my life entered any kind of model search. I don’t see myself as a model — I’m not tall enough (I’m 5′4″ .. although I could easily parade around in six inch heels and pretend to be 6 feet tall any day!) and I love to eat and digest my food! But when I saw the video of Karen talking about the competition and how Purple Lab was looking for someone “Sassy” and “Who loves glamour” and that beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, and heights, I thought, “.. maybe I have a shot!” ;)

I am so happy I took the chance and was blown away by all the support I had received from all you. So many of you were so determined to get me to #1 and wanted to see me win. I had received a message from someone who was confused about what exactly they were voting for but told me they voted for me anyway because I said I wanted it. That means so much to me that a good number of you actually care about me and care to see me succeed. We all have dreams, goals, and sometimes full-blown fantasies, that we make up for ourselves but it’s not every day that other people will see and want for us the same.

This is just one of the hopefully many, many, many other amazing things I am going to accomplish in my life. I hope that this is an example to all of you that if you want something, no matter what it is and no matter how many people say you can’t, to just go for it! For most of my early teenage years, I’ve been called the ugliest of things. People would make fun of me for anything and everything. People would say I was ugly. I had a friend who told me my hair was ugly because it was so thick. I had teachers make fun of me for wearing makeup, for being interested in makeup, for spending ridiculous amounts of money on makeup. [I will agree, at times it was a teeny bit excessive .. but that's what I loved!] I could go on and on about all the things that people would try to discourage me about. I am so happy I never let any of it get to me or stand in my way. A lot of the times people say negative things because a) they don’t know what they’re talking about or b) they do know what they’re talking about but they just want to make you feel like you aren’t as good as them and to make themselves feel better. If I could pass on anything, it’s do not let those things get to you. Those who don’t support you don’t matter and never will. Those who do and will matter, will support you.

Thank you all so much for all of your kindness and support!

I will be seeing you all live from HSN Headquarters in Florida in April!

P.S. – I plan on doing tons of tweeting and possibly some behind-the-scenes filming during all this HSN stuff. Does that sound interesting to any of you? Let me know!

P.P.S. – Within just a few hours after the announcement, I also discovered I reached 40,000 subscribers on YouTube! Such a round number! Even more reason to do another giveaway! Thinking about what to giveaway this time around. My giveaway prizes always have to be fierce!

Lady Gaga Love Game Inspired Makeup Tutorial

gaga_lovegame_makeup_harlow

It was hard for me to find any decent pictures of Lady Gaga’s eye makeup from this video so I relied on watching the video over and over and pressing pause every so often! Haha. I have been DYING to recreate this look since I had first seen it. I know, this is the third Lady Gaga look that I have recreated .. it probably won’t be my last either. Feel free, as always, to click on the photos to view them supersized!

Stuff I ordered from Sephora.com

Did a little bit of online shopping at Sephora.com today and decided to share the list with all of you. A lot of it is stuff I’m running low on that I love and need to buy backups of!

Urban Decay Lipstick in "Naked" - $22

This lipstick shade is all kinds of gorgeous! I have worn it in a tutorial or two in the past. Somehow, I lost it. So, I re-bought it today. Can’t wait for it to get to my front door!

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel - $24

I really like this moisturizer. I am very picky when it comes to moisturizing my skin because I hate the feeling of too much moisture. I want just enough to hydrate my skin so that it isn’t dry and feels silky smooth. This moisturizing gel is perfect for me and it doesn’t break me out.

Shu Uemura Eye Lash Curler - $19

I have started curling my lashes lately with some cheap-o Revlon eyelash curler. My lashes are naturally curled but I like how using a lash curler lifts them up and makes them appear longer. So, I figured, if I like what the cheap Revlon one does, I should really like what this coveted, raved about, high-end one will do.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Super Matte Loose Powder Sand 14

MAKE UP FOR EVER Super Matte Loose Powder Translucent - $24

Best powder ever for setting your foundation. Your makeup will not move. It doesn’t look too powdery and still keeps your skin matte and perfect throughout the day or night. I have been using a number of other things in the meantime and have been less than satisfied. I’m going back to this favorite now.

Benefit Hoola Bronzing Powder - $28

I’m a total matte girl. It’s hard to find a matte bronzer these days, let alone a good one. This one is my favorite. When I want a little bit of glow, I’ll use my Christian Siriano Bronzer instead. That one is GORGEOUS!

Hourglass Superficial Lash Mascara - $12

My favorite mascara of the moment. It’s very dark. The brush tapers to a thin tip so I can get the teeniest lashes that I didn’t even know I had! [Odd thing, I'm a brunette but the tips of my lashes are practically white] It lengthens. It volumizes. It doesn’t clump. It’s my best friend.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Matte Velvet + - $34

One of my top favorite foundations. I love that this is lightweight yet provides a decent amount of coverage. It has a natural matte finish to it. I even like the smell of it.
