You know you have a serious beauty addiction when it’s 3 a.m. and you are dead tired but before you go to bed you simply must get out your credit card and order a few things really quickly from Sephora.com.

So, I just ordered myself 2 Superficial Lash mascaras by Hourglass in “Carbon” because I have a funny feeling I will be running out of my sample very shortly.

I love this mascara because it may just be the best mascara I have ever tried in my entire life! Here’s what you need to know — it makes your lashes look TREMENDOUS! Seriously, it appears as though it pushes your lashes up and stretches them as far as they could ever possibly go! It does a good job at adding volume without clumping too much and making your lashes look dirty and “over-mascara-ed”. The formula is very black (at least for “Carbon”. I only buy black mascara anyway. If you own a brown mascara and love it, we cannot be friends!) and it doesn’t flake off or smudge throughout the day which is very important to me. My lashes are pretty long and sometimes I get little dots of mascara underneath my brows from other mascaras so the fact that I don’t have that problem with this one is bliss!

The brush is also nice as it gets thinner towards the tip, making it easier to coat littler lashes at the inner corners and lower lashline.

The only downside to this mascara is that it is quite pricey. At $26 a pop, Superficial Lash mascara is a bit of a splurge. Here’s how I defend it — it’s $2 less than the beloved and coveted Givenchy Phenomen’Eyes mascara. Ting!
